This week has been very productive for me. I was able to work on multiple projects for all of my classes. I finally feel like I am catching up, which feels great! For a moment, I was worried that I was falling too far behind. Luckily, I was able to put some extra work in this past week to get to a point where I no longer feel the pressure of having too many things going on.

For ceramics, I am currently working on two projects. The first project is based on choosing an article from the Studio Potter Archive online and creating a piece that is a response or just an idea that I is based on the article. So far, I am about halfway done with this project. I was able to get everything built and painted with colored slip, my last task is using a sgraffito method (which I have never done) to carve in my design. The first two images below are my ideas and sketches for this project. I decided to go with the flower vase because it allows me to try out some new techniques! The next two images are just an update to show where I am at now before starting the sgraffito.

Also, I have started coming up with ideas for my next project. For this one, I will be choosing my own project that I will be presenting to my peers. I think this is very exciting because it lets me really think about the subject matter and what I want my work to say to people. I am looking forward to presenting my ideas and seeing what my peers think! Hopefully, I get some good feedback that can give me some different perspectives that help me elevate my ideas. I am really looking forward to see what the next week brings!
