Well, this week has ended on a very unsure note. I was able to successfully finish each component of the project I have been working on for weeks now. My confidence was pretty high, as I thought it would be a straightforward process of finishing since all the pieces were complete. However, I was very, very, VERY mistaken. The assembly of the pieces has proven to be the most difficult part of the entire project. As I was putting the pieces together, things began to fall apart and not fit together as well as I was hoping for. So, I did my best to do what I could. Will it work out at the end? My fingers have definitely been crossed.

On a different note, I have began coming up with ideas for the next project! This project is based on an article I read from The Studio Potter Journal archive. This article, called “The Sculpted Word: Telling Tales Through Ceramic Form”, has the work of an artist named Jen Corace. This artist stood out to me because her work is based on the idea of how the process of life is a cycle of opening, closing, and growth. She includes how personal experiences can be embodied and expressed through art, which really resonated with me. I decided to create a piece based on this concept. I will begin working on this soon and I am excited to see how I can make my ideas come to life (hopefully better than the previous piece).

Unfortunately, there are no progress pictures for this week, but I will make sure to update in my next post!
