Blog Post #2
This week I have started working on my first ceramics project for the semester. The goal for this project is to achieve something that is geometric in style or inspired by architectural designs. I was so excited to get started that I immediately began brainstorming ideas. Over a couple of days, I came up with more than ten different sketches to begin working from.
Although this assignment only requires one piece to turn in, I decided to make two instead. I was really drawn to two ideas and felt like they could go well together stylistically. To give myself as much time as possible to work on these, I began trying to figure out the best way to work on both at the same time. So, I decided to start with using an extruder to create long hollow tubes that I can cut down to whatever size I need. Doing this should definitely make things a little easier for me; but, we will just have to see! Hopefully, by the time I make my next blog post, I will have made great progress on both pieces! Stay tuned…
