As the ceramics semester has come to an end, I’ve been thinking about how much I’ve learned along the way. This class really helped me figure out what I want to say with my work, both in terms of ideas and overall direction. Getting my hands in the clay week after week made the process feel more intuitive and personal. I really felt the creativity and inspiration with my work this semester.

I also had a lot of fun experimenting with different styles and letting myself try things that felt new or unfamiliar, while revisiting some techniques. Not everything worked out, but every piece taught me something, and that has honestly been one of the most rewarding parts of the class.

I’m already looking forward to next semester in ceramics, especially since I’ll be learning how to make my own tools. It feels exciting to take that next step and keep building on everything I’ve started this semester.

And to wrap everything up, here is a picture of my final project (better ones coming soon).
